The aim of this text is to investigate the traditions of alternative notations, which form the background for Ockeghem’s famous canon "Prenez sur moy", the final song of the Copenhagen chansonnier. A different version of the paper is published as ‘Prenez sur moy vostre exemple: The ‘clefless’ notation or the use of fa-clefs in chansons of the fifteenth century by Binchois, Barbingant, Ockeghem and Josquin’ in the Danish Yearbook of Musicology 39 (2009), pp. 13-38.
